Here
are some of the most common questions we are asked about our catering
services. The answers below should help you define in advance
a few of the details about your upcoming event.
What kind of catering do you do?
big Burrito provides a full range of catering services. We can
create a party for as few as 10 guests and as many as 500. We
can serve you at any location, and can bring simple finger foods
or an elaborate five course meal. We can provide a range of services
from simple drop-off menus to elegant seated dinners.
Can
I plan a menu with food from more than one of the big Burrito
restaurants?
Yes! Our restaurants provide a great selection
of foods from around the world. We encourage our catering customers
to be adventurous in their menu planning
Can
big Burrito help me with rental items like tables, chairs, service
wares, and glasses?
Yes, big Burrito can manage all the needed rentals for your event.
We do charge a nominal fee for making these arrangements for you.
Can
big Burrito provide the wines and other beverages?
At our two licensed premises, The Andy Warhol Museum and Phipps Conservatory we can provide all of your beverage requirements. Due to Pennsylvania's liquor laws, at other venues, we cannot sell alcoholic beverages. However we can provide bar, glassware and setups to serve the liquor, beer and wine that you provide. We will provide our RAMP certified bartenders.
Will
big Burrito give me a contract?
Yes. big Burrito will provide you with a fully detailed contract
that reflects all the specifications you desire.
Does
big Burrito require a guaranteed number of guests?
Yes. We need a guaranteed minimum guest count one week in advance.
We call this a minimum because once we begin to work with a number
we cannot decrease it. We do take increases to the guest count
as late as possible to accommodate those last minute RSVPs.
How
do you calculate the price for my event?
The cost of your event is booked as a cost per person, which is
based on your projected number of guests. If the number of guests
in your party changes significantly in the weeks prior to the
event (usually 10 +/-), then we may want to rethink the price
per person, as it may actually be less than expected. Unless otherwise
requested, this per person fee does not include rental costs,
staffing, gratuities and appropriate taxes.
Can
big Burrito help me find a location for my event?
Yes.
Our management team has over 30 years combined experience catering
in the Pittsburgh market. In that time we have developed an extensive
list of facilities that are available to off-premise caterers.
What
is big Burrito's deposit and payment policy?
Once you have decided to have big Burrito host your party, we
ask for a $100 non-refundable deposit to hold your desired date
and begin the planning phase. When we have ironed out all the
details and are ready to sign a contract, we ask that you pay
one third of the total amount. The remainder of the fee is due
at the end of the event.
What
is big Burrito's refund or cancellation policy?
Depending on the size of your party, $500 of your contract deposit
is non-refundable. The purpose of this is to defray big Burrito's
time invested in planning your event and closing the date to other
catering. Generally, at one month prior to the date, the entire
deposit becomes non-refundable.
Is
there someone I can talk to if I have questions, even after I've
signed a contract?
Absolutely. Feel free to call us any time, even if you called
us five times yesterday. We understand that each event is unique,
and we are committed to planning it the way you want.
